Gold standard customer service
We're delighted to have been presented with a Gold Award by the Hong Kong Call Center Association. The awards seek to recognise the best within the contact center industry in Hong Kong; we received our award as a result of a Mystery Caller Assessment.
The assessment took place between March and August this year. With callers evaluating our customer service based on five criteria; call pick up speed, understanding of client's needs, inquiry handling, call closing and overall communications.
Our success is testament to our team's continued commitment to excellence in customer service.
Another busy month helping to support our local community
We're passionate about supporting local Hong Kong charities and causes. We want to play a role in supporting the community we operate in and help deliver sustainable change.
This month saw our staff unleash their creativity during a nursery school “Art Monster” visit and use their culinary skills to prepare over 700 hot meals for those in need.
Art Monster with the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC)
On Saturday 29 October, Standard Life visited a nursery school run by our charity partner, Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children. HKSPC runs 17 nursery schools for children aged between 2 and 6 years old across the region, many of these children come from under privileged backgrounds.
The Art Monster activity is designed to help children build confidence, allowing for interaction with peers outside of the classroom and supporting the development of important social skills, whilst also promoting fun, creativity and self-expression.
Our young-at-heart volunteers arrived full of energy and enthusiasm. Each was partnered with a student and together they created a life sized paper outline of the student's body decorating it using a variety of art materials, and once complete they took photos with their masterpieces.
It was a great experience to work with such lively and talented children. We look forward to supporting this worthwhile cause again in the future.
The creation of 722 nutritious meals with Food Angel
On 3 November 14 volunteers from Standard Life arrived in Food Angel's Chai Wan kitchen. Food Angel is a food rescue and assistance programme found by Bo Charity Foundation with the mission of "WASTE NOT, HUNGER NOT." They look to address the issues of food wastage and hunger in our city.
In Hong Kong 3,600 tonnes of food ends up in landfills daily, however 1 in 4 deprived children do not eat 3 meals a day and 1 in 3 elderly people struggle to meet their basic nutritional needs.
The Food Angel programme is trying to change this. They collect edible surplus food from the food industry, which would have been destined for landfill. Under strict safety protocols this is then transformed into a new hot meal redistributing the food within underprivileged communities.
Since they were founded in March 2011 they have provided over 2,956,453 meals to people throughout Hong Kong.
Our volunteers were keen to help such a great local charity; spending the afternoon in the kitchen preparing impressive 722 hot nutritious meals. During this time they learnt more about the projects the charity run, the charity's food rescue efforts as well as and food waste and poverty in Hong Kong.
Supporting a charity which works to address these problems in such a sustainable way inspired all of us and we are currently looking into what more we can do to help.
