Traditionally believed to be one of the smartest of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, the monkey is renowned for its liveliness and flexibility in areas such as career and wealth. With the Year of the Monkey fast approaching, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your unstinting support during the last year. Saying thank you for a successful 2015 at our annual cocktail party!
On the evening of Friday 18 December, many of our most valued business partners joined us at our annual cocktail reception to celebrate the end of 2015. Held at the JW Marriott hotel's ultra-chic Flint Restaurant, our year-end gathering once again proved to be a wonderful way of thanking everyone for their unwavering support throughout the previous 12 months. We hope that everyone who came along enjoyed the evening's seemingly unending supply of delicious food and returned home eagerly anticipating a fantastic family Christmas and another great year of working together with Standard Life.
Your continued patronage remains vitally important for our sustained success. To this end, we would like to express our gratitude to each and every one of you for your ongoing loyalty and support. Our support of Oxfam's 2015 'Home For Dinner' campaign was one recent example of how we are working hard to fulfil our commitment to corporate social responsibility. In joining hands with Oxfam last November, we encouraged employees who would normally end their working weeks by dining out to leave the office early and enjoy dinner at home with their loved ones. In addition to sharing quality time with family members, staff who took part raised funds for Oxfam's campaign to help those trapped in hunger and poverty.
Back in 2013, we further underlined our CSR promise by joining forces with the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC). In taking our support of HKSPC's tireless work on promoting the care, education and social development of children and families in partnership with the community, we initiated a fruit-selling fundraising event last December. Our staff's generous support of this initiative was made even more meaningful by our parent Group's matching every HK$1 raised during the sale with an additional HK$1.
The great success of these meaningful causes will continue to inspire us to devote even more effort into going the extra mile for the community. Watch this space for updates!
